All across the world, Jazz musicians come together to play music. This time, Jazz brings together two close neighbours.
With Musicians hailing from Hong Kong and Japan, we're connecting different languages, through a more powerful universal language – Music.
Justin Siu, acclaimed cellist is joined by Jerold Chu (Piano), Nate Wong (Percussion), Yu Hagiwara (Saxophone) and Fumino Ishikawa (Flute) take us on a journey that crosses sonic borders. As expected from the region with the largest proponent of Jazz fans in the world, Japan has produced some of the genre's finest musicians.
This event brings us Jazz, through the Japanese lens.
Hagiwara has seen much success as a saxophonist, and also as an arranger; his work has includes Baku, the theme song of Boruto; Lost in Paradise, the closing theme of Jujutsu Kaisen, and more.
Ishikawa is equally skilled in her own right, boasting an impressive background in classical music having been the runner up in the All Japan Junior Classical Music competition in 2015.
