Professional Kenyan marathon runner and friend of EXP.LEARNING, Lukas Wambua Muteti features as a guest coach for Wazup Run Club
The Station → Golden Bauhinia → The Station
Lukas has been travelling to Hong Kong to train and compete in Asia's largest marathons for nearly a decade. More recently he ran the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon with blind local runner, Lee Chun-Fai in pursuit of a sub 3 hour time.
Lukas is both a talented athlete and a man who is passionate about charitable causes, supporting Fearless Dragon (blind deaf running group), other Kenyan distance runners through Mirarunners, and of course, EXP.LEARNING. In Kenya, Lukas also runs a coffee farm!
Collaborating with Wazup Run Club, Lukas will feature as a guest coach for the club's Wednesday night run, imparting some of the hidden gems that have helped him in his career to Hong Kong's most welcoming running community.
Founded in June 2020, the Wazup Running Club is built around a core philosophy of “you never run alone”. This was based on the insight that many people feel intimidated by joining a run club – “I’m not good enough”, “I can't keep up”, “Run club’s are only for serious runners”.
Wazup wanted to remove this barrier and create an environment that anyone can enjoy. Testament to this is their finish line tradition in which every runner stays until the last runner finishes.
This is a not-for-profit event, but we ask that you make a donation of $100 to support both Lukas and EXP.LEARNING
