One of the most well-known philosophical idioms in the modern world must be ‘I think, therefore I am’. Written by the French philosopher René Descartes, it asserts the existence of self through the act of thought. For us at EXP., while this phrase is powerful, it is also too self-concerned, too mental, and it misses, quite literally, the whole world around us.
At EXP., we believe in the richness of life through active engagement with the world. EXP. stands for Experience, Exploration, Experimentation, and Expression. These actions manifests our philosophy and defines our purpose.
Experience:
Life is a collection of moments. Every sensation, every interaction, forms the mosaic of our existence. Experiences are the raw data of life, shaping our understanding and giving depth to our being.
Exploration:
To explore is to transcend the unknown. Driven by curiosity, exploration pushes us to new horizons, challenging our limits and enriching our spirits with new perspectives.
Experimentation:
Life is an ongoing experiment, each choice a venture into the unknown. Through risk and uncertainty, failures and triumphs, we try and learn, advance and grow. Experiments requires courage and creativity, it is the prerequisite for innovation and progress.
Expression:
Expression translates our inner experiences into tangible forms. Through art, words, and actions, we manifest our individuality, cultivate our values and connect with the world.
We are the sum of our inputs and outputs in life. We are who we are largely because of the countless interactions and engagements we have with the world. Every experience shapes us. Every exploration broadens our horizons. Every experiment teaches us something new. Every expression is a testament to our unique existence. Our identity is not a solitary, introspective realization but a vibrant tapestry woven from our continual engagement with the world.
So we believe: "We EXP. Therefore we are." This motto captures our spirit. It is a reminder that our identity is crafted from the dynamic interplay between ourselves and the world around us.
